Dear Mountain Community,

Welcome back to school! As we look ahead to another exciting school year, I look forward to seeing you at all the exciting events we have planned this year.

Our first event is the 16th Annual Gala on October 8th! Gala organization and planning started months ago and is building toward what promises to be a memorable evening. Tickets will go on sale in mid-September and as seating is limited and The Gala typically sells out in advance. More info can be found at: www.lpef.org/gala.

I’d like to extend a special invitation to families that are new to our schools and those few who haven’t attended our events before. Our Gala is a night of elegance, fun, dining and dancing, and both the unofficial and official start to so much that revolves around our schools. We sincerely hope to see you there.

Our Gala team is also making a sincere plea for additional volunteer help as well as auction donations, including services and in-kind donations. This team has already begun working around the clock. It truly takes a mountain to make the “Magic” happen and we hope you can help. I cannot thank these volunteers enough and encourage you to thank them as well. Our amazing team this year consists of Elizabeth Hampton, Lila Jones, Joni Thomas, Lindsey Winter, Danielle Garvey and Mia Hammerschmidt. Their efforts enrich our kids’ education and I am very grateful.

It is also with great pleasure that I announce that we have a two LPEF Board Member positions open this year. Please let me know if you would like to learn more about joining. Our only “retiring” board member is four-year veteran; Debbie Robinson. We will miss her dearly! The contributions and expertise of all our Board Members is critical to support our decision-making and fundraising. I personally thank them all for their dedication and efforts throughout the year.
